How can I make ice cream without an ice cream making machine?

Maybe even if the method would involve an lot of stirring. We used to have an old style machine which was a deep pot within a deep pot. And the space in between we put rock salt or dry ice or something. Then we took turns cranking a thing. Can you fashion something from items normally found in a kitchen? How can I make ice cream without an ice cream making machine?

Yes! You'll need an ice cream mix (milk, sugar, vanilla, whatever you want), ice, salt, and two ziplock bags of different sizes. Pour your mixture into the smaller bag and seal it. You might even want to double-bag your mixture. Fill the larger bag with the ice and salt, and place the small bag into the big bag, and just shake it until it turns into ice cream! The bag will get VERY cold, so you might need gloves.
Yes, use a large can, such as a coffee can for the outer container, and a smaller can, such as a family size soup can for the inner container. Then you put ice and salt between the two containers, and roll the whole contraption around on the floor for a bit so it gets all mixed up.

You make the ice-cream mixture and put it in the freezer in a box. Take it out every hour - it should still be soft in the middle but frozen round the edges, and beat it with an electric whisk - do this about three times, then leave. This puts the extra air in. Before eating it, set it in the fridge for about 10 minutes.

Well its hard but is possible. Here is some instructions x

Step 1

Decide on the flavor of ice cream you want to make

Step 2

Find a suitable recipe, get the ingredients, make up the mixture

Step 3

Pour your freshly prepared mixture into a fairly wide bowl and put in your refrigerator to chill for between 1 and 2 hours. How long will depend upon whether you've actually heated up or cooked any of the ingredients when making the mixture.

Step 4

Remove from the refrigerator and put into your freezer for 30-40 minutes.

Step 5

Take the bowl out and check the state of the mixture - it should have started freezing from the outside edges in but not be fully frozen in the centre of the bowl.

Step 6

Place the bowl onto a work surface and beat the mixture well, breaking up any ice crystals and making it smooth again.

Step 7

Put the bowl back into your freezer and wait another 30-40 minutes.

Step 8

Repeat steps 5 through to 7

Step 9

Repeat steps 5 and 6

Step 10

Put the bowl back into the freezer for the final time and check every 30 minutes or so until your ice cream is frozen and ready to eat.

Some ingredients x

Banna ice cream x

The ingredients:

3/4 pint (375ml) cream or milk

4oz (100g) sugar

3 bananas 鈥?nicely ripe (to mash up)

To prepare the mixture:

Mash the bananas well and put into a mixing bowl. Take the cream or milk and pour into the bowl. Mix in well with the bananas.

Vanilla ice cream x

The ingredients:

1/2 pint (250ml) light cream

1-2 teaspoons vanilla extract

condensed milk (small can)

To prepare the mixture:

Take the cream, condensed milk and vanilla extract and pour them all slowly into a mixing bowl. Mix gently together until your mixture is nice and smooth.

Coffee ice cream x

Ingredients:

4 tablespoons fresh coffee (finely ground)

8 oz (200g) soft brown sugar

1 pint (500ml) milk

5 egg yolks

6 fl.oz (approx 185ml) very hot water

Pour the very hot water onto the fresh ground coffee and leave to stand for up to 10 minutes. Important next step is to strain the mixture to get rid of the grounds. Use a bowl that's heatproof and put into it the egg yolks and soft brown sugar. Mix them together until nice and thick. Take the coffee mixture and milk and whisk these in next. Then place the bowl over a saucepan of simmering water to gently heat the mixture. Allow to cook and stir occasionally. When the mixture is thick it's ready to be taken off the heat. Leave the bowl to cool.

Anyway hope i helped. Im sure you will be able to find more info online x x x
